The Premier Radio Controlled Airplane Flying Club In Butler County
If you are interested in building or flying fixed wing, radio control (R/C) airplanes or just enjoy great company, then you have come to the right place! The BAMS (Butler Aircraft Modelers Society) is an excellent club to help you get started in this hobby.
The simple truth of the matter is that, as a member of the BAMS, you just won’t find a friendlier group of fliers anywhere.
The club is located on property owned by the Sylvania Foundation. We have heated building with building/training room and flush toilets. We also have a 30′ x 200′ asphalt runway and 2 grass runways.
If you are new to the sport of radio controlled airplanes, we offer an excellent training program during the warmer months.
We believe that in order to truly enjoy this hobby/sport, you need to learn not only how to fly safely, but to properly build and maintain your aircraft. And you can always count on our members to help out when you need it.
If you are looking at getting into the exciting hobby of building and flying radio controlled airplanes, feel free to come out and visit us at The BAMS flying field. You will usually find a few of our members out flying on days that the weather is decent. You can always feel free to talk with members that are there enjoying the day and the field, all from the comfort of the shade of the pavilion. Come out, visit the field that we are so proud of, talk with members that are there, and get your questions answered about the hobby we are so passionate about. If you’re a past member and haven’t been out to visit for a while, we’d like to invite you to drop by. You may be pleasantly surprised at all the improvements that have been made over the past few years. You might see some old faces. You may see some new faces as well and who knows what can come from a visit to our field. You may reestablish old friendships or make some new ones.
